Ava's room

Well, as I mentioned after seeing baby Gage I realized how unprepared I am for the arrival of my child. If you really think about it, I only have 3 months left...3 months!!! Eeek!!!

So on Sunday, I went to the paint store and got the special non-toxic paint (aka expensive paint) so I could get started on Ava's room. I also bought a cushion for the rocking chair. It occured to me after I started that I should take before and after pictures. I had Isabella run and get the camera. (Note the goofy girl that had to jump in every shot!) At least I feel like I'm making progress now.

Of course while I was having an emotional breakdown to Desi on Valentine's Day about there not being any time, he asked if I would feel better if I bought the crib next week. I told him that would make me feel a lot better. He told me to do it, so I'm gonna hold him to it. I'm sure at that point he was probably glad that he was away from my raging emotional hormones. Poor guy, can't believe I started crying on him ON Valentine's Day...oops. ;)
I'll keep posting pictures as the room progesses.

Our Special Valentine's Day

Desmond couldn't be here for Valentine's Day so we had already celebrated it together last weekend down in Houston. We went out to dinner and then went home and made cookies. We had a really good time. He did take pictures on this new little gadget that he's proud of, but I don't have them yet. It's a keychain camera that you can't tell it's a camera and it fits in the palm of your hand...he's obsessed with it.

So this weekend it was just Isabella and I. I'm not big on Valentine's, but seeing how excited Isabella had been since last weekend how could I not make the day special for her.

Saturday we got up and we started with lunch at Country Burger (Isabella's choice) where we got her favorite...a "hamburger sandwich with cheese and ketchup only." After we were done, we went around the corner to our favorite bakery The Greene Kitchen and picked up goodies for the evening. While I was there I decided to pick up some treats for the Peyton's too. Isabella had some Starburst that she wanted to deliver to her future husband, Cole. ;)

Now we were really in the spirit so we stopped at the Mom & Pop Company in downtown McKinney and got more candy for the Peyton's....because we know Heather could always use a sugar fix.

Heather and Peyton were at the movies but her mother was there babysitting and I FINALLY got to see Gage! He's so tiny and adorable! But I won't lie...I was freaking out. I forgot how little newborns were...I'm so not prepared. Anyhow, hung out there for a bit.

After running around all day, we just wanted to go home and relax. I ordered a heart shaped pizza, picked up a salad, got out our treats, even whipped out the wine glasses (w/ ginger ale) and lit candles! We had a little romantic dinner! It was cute.

We finished the evening with a movie and a board game....Annie and Candy Land. Who could ask for much more? ;)

Getting Ready for Valentine's!!!

Here are a few pictures that I took last night of Isabella making her Valentine's. I had to make sandwiches for the class. Please note those are heart shaped sandwiches...I just cut them in half. I know, I'm so clever ;) Isabella had to count to make sure we had made enough Valentines...she's too funny.

She actually woke up in a good mood this morning...I made her promise to last night. So before we went to school, I took pictures of her in her pretty pink dress. The last picture is at the school when I dropped her off. Aww...
Getting started...

Heart shaped sandwich making

Clearly, I am proud of myself ;)

Preggo Pic

Here is a picture of me in all my glory! Isabella took this picture right when we got back from Houston last weekend. It was a LONG drive home, so I'm looking a little tired. In this pic I was 23 weeks and 5 days...but who's counting. ;)

Almost Valentine's Day

Memories....This was a picture of Isabella on techically her 2nd Valentines day. She was almost 14 months old. She was just the cutest little thing if I do say so myself. I wonder what Ava will look like...hmmm...

Oh Happy Day!

There is a new Ugly Betty and Grey's on today! Two of my favorite shows...gotta love it!

Healthy again!

Of course I'm going to have to play catch up...

Well, I posted that Isabella had gotten impetigo. Well, then I got sick. The culture on her face was postive for staph AND strep. Well of course on Wednesday morning, I woke up and my throat was killing me. To top it off Dallas had iced over and I had a big day at work...not a good time to be sick. Well, to make a long story short (which I can never do according to Desmond) I ended up having strep throat. I was devestated. Not only was I missing crucial stuff at work, Heather was scheduled to have her baby on Friday and now there was no way I could see them.

But with all that said, both Isabella and I are feeling much better now. Heather had Gage...who I found out the next day was whisked to the NICU because he was having trouble breathing. However, Heather called me yesterday to let me know that he was released from the NICU! Thank goodness!

All and all things are looking better this week!
